Street Plans co-authored the Bloomberg Asphalt Art Guide and has helped partners from New York to Asheville turn plain pavement into safer, more welcoming public space.
OUR LEADERSHIP
In October 2019, Bloomberg Associates and Street Plans released the Asphalt Art Guide, a free resource for cities looking to transform streets and public spaces with art. Street Plans led the research behind the guide, documenting over two dozen case studies — including our own Rue Vendome and Coxe Avenue projects — and identifying the practices that make these projects succeed.
BLOOMBERG PARTNERSHIP
Alongside the guide, Bloomberg Philanthropies has awarded Asphalt Art Initiative grants to cities across the U.S. looking to implement similar projects. The Asphalt Art Guide is now available in English, German, Spanish, French, Italian, and other languages, and continues to be cited as a leading resource for street-level public art.
